We are looking to appoint a new Joint Schools and Youth Pioneer worker to continue our extensive schools and young people’s work. This is a full time, or near full time position, in which 50% of their hours are committed to working in Hemel Hempstead Methodist Church (HHMC) as a Young People’s Pioneer worker.
The role will coordinate and support school clubs, lessons and youth events for Youth Across Hemel while also connecting young people with Hemel Hempstead Methodist Church through potential initiatives such as a youth club. Beyond that, the worker will have creative freedom and a positive working environment to support the congregation but will not be expected to make HHMC their home church if they are attending elsewhere already.
We will be looking for a committed Christian who is dynamic, able to work independently and in teams, capable of leading, motivating and organising volunteers in a flexible and creative environment. They will also be willing to enthusiastically promote Youth Across Hemel to school leaders, school staff and local churches. Our ideal candidate will have some experience of schools’ work and/or youth work, can demonstrate competence in a classroom, and has managed others.
